President Pezeshkian Arrives in New York, Highlights Iran’s Message of Peace at UNGA

New York, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in New York on Sunday night to participate in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Upon his arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport, the president reiterated that Iran’s message to the world is one of peace and security, aligning with the core principles of the United Nations.

In a statement reported by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), President Pezeshkian emphasized that the vision of peace and development for all should guide global actions. “Iran’s message of peace and security is not only our commitment but also the slogan of the United Nations—a future of peace and development for all nations,” he stated.

The Iranian president stressed the need to move beyond war and violence, advocating for a world where people can live peacefully, irrespective of race, ethnicity, or background. “Unfortunately, the current global situation is far from this ideal, as double standards create divisions and exacerbate the challenges we face today,” Pezeshkian remarked, calling for equal opportunities for all people.

Before departing for New York, President Pezeshkian expressed his hope to serve as the voice of the Iranian people during his address at the UNGA, scheduled for Tuesday. He is expected to address key issues impacting both Iran and the global community.

During his three-day visit, the president is set to engage in meetings with several world leaders, officials from various countries, religious figures, media representatives, and members of the Iranian diaspora. Pezeshkian was welcomed upon arrival by a delegation of Iranian diplomats, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who had arrived in New York earlier.

This year’s UNGA session presents an opportunity for President Pezeshkian to highlight Iran’s commitment to fostering global peace and development, reinforcing its message on the international stage.
