Senator Irfan Siddiqui Highlights Pakistan-Uzbekistan Ties in Meeting with Uzbek Ambassador

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Parliamentary Party Leader of PMLN in Senate and Chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, met with His Excellency Alisher Tukhtaev, Newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the Senate Secretariat in Islamabad today.

During the discussion, Senator Irfan Siddiqui emphasized the importance of deepening ties with Uzbekistan, praising the visionary leadership of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He highlighted the shared history and cultural bonds between the two nations, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to fostering strong diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Tukhtaev, in turn, expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality of the Pakistani people. He lauded the progress of the Trans-Afghan Railway project, which links Uzbekistan and Pakistan, describing it as a cornerstone of strategic partnership and a key initiative in regional connectivity.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, further solidifying the partnership between the two brotherly nations.

The meeting was also attended by Eurasian expert Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, and Defence Attaché Col. Lütfullah of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
