Oman and Türkiye Forge Partnership in Higher Education

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Türkiye have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing collaboration in the field of higher education. The agreement, designed to enhance academic ties and foster knowledge exchange, was signed by Oman’s Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, and Türkiye’s Council of Higher Education President, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.

The MoU outlines key areas of cooperation, including the exchange of scholarships, mutual accreditation of higher education institutions, and the sharing of academic resources and expertise. Additionally, it provides for the organization of training programs, seminars, symposiums, conferences, and collaborative research studies, which will strengthen both countries’ educational and research capacities.

The two sides also held a session of talks in which they discussed further recommendations to broaden their educational partnership. Among the session’s outcomes were proposals to increase the number of scholarships and expand student exchange programs, emphasizing the commitment of both nations to advancing educational and cultural ties.
