UAE President and Jordan’s King Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Regional Peace Initiatives
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone conversation today with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan, reaffirming the strong ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The leaders discussed collaborative efforts to enhance bilateral partnerships, focusing on development priorities and shared aspirations for progress and prosperity for their people.
The discussion covered a range of regional and international matters, with particular emphasis on the Middle East, including recent developments in Gaza. Both leaders highlighted the urgent need to bolster efforts for a ceasefire in the area, ensuring the protection of civilians in line with international humanitarian standards, and expanding humanitarian support to alleviate conditions faced by Gaza’s population.
Sheikh Mohamed and King Abdullah also discussed building on the outcomes of the recent extraordinary Arab and Islamic summit in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the need for comprehensive de-escalation in the region to prevent the conflict from widening and to support regional stability and security.
