Ahsan Iqbal Highlights Importance of Education for National Progress at Narowal Educational Conference
Narowal, The Gulf Observer: Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, emphasized the pivotal role of education and research in the development of nations during his address at the Narowal Educational Conference 2024, held in Narowal on Saturday. He stated that the government is taking substantial steps to uplift the education sector, recognizing it as a cornerstone for national progress.
Highlighting the significance of the University of Narowal as a vital institution for advancing education, the minister remarked that the government is actively providing employment opportunities to the youth by equipping them with modern education and skills. He stressed that a strong focus on education is essential for achieving sustainable national development.
Addressing social issues, Ahsan Iqbal underscored the importance of fostering unity and eliminating hatred within society. “Today, more than ever, we need to promote harmony among all of us,” he said. He lamented the trend of teaching the younger generation to turn differences into enmity, calling it a regrettable practice that hinders societal cohesion.
The minister also criticized the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), describing them as incompetent and accusing them of derailing the country’s progress. He voiced concern over the proliferation of misinformation on social media, highlighting it as a serious threat that misleads the youth and undermines societal stability.
The Narowal Educational Conference 2024 served as a platform to discuss the critical role of education in addressing the challenges faced by the nation and charting a path toward progress and unity.
