Astana Hosts Political Consultations Between Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were held in Astana, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting was led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu.

During the meeting, the two delegations highlighted the dynamic development of bilateral relations based on mutually beneficial partnership principles. The discussions covered a range of topics, including current agenda issues, cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, and the progress of previously reached agreements.

Both ministers emphasized the importance of high-level contacts, which they agreed play a key role in strengthening bilateral ties. In line with the International Year of Peace and Trust, the delegations discussed joint initiatives and shared positive experiences in international organizations such as the United Nations (UN), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and regional formats.

A notable focus of the consultations was the expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation and enhanced collaboration between the diplomatic services of both countries. In the economic domain, they acknowledged the significant potential for bolstering partnerships in energy, transportation, trade, and industry, with a special mention of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission as a critical framework for further cooperation.

The diplomats also expressed a shared commitment to developing cultural, scientific, and educational exchanges, as well as deepening cooperation in healthcare and sports.

At the conclusion of the consultations, both sides reaffirmed their unwavering dedication to strengthening bilateral relations, built on a foundation of centuries-old friendship and good neighborliness.
