Oman, South Africa Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Issues in Muscat Meeting

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, received on Thursday Anna Thandi Moraka, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa.

During the meeting, the two officials reviewed avenues of bilateral cooperation between Oman and South Africa across various sectors. Discussions included the potential organization of a joint economic forum in Muscat and efforts to boost tourism ties by facilitating travel procedures and encouraging related initiatives.

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional developments. Al Harthy expressed Oman’s appreciation for South Africa’s principled stance against the genocide being inflicted upon the Palestinian people amid the ongoing Israeli aggression.

In response, Deputy Minister Moraka praised Oman’s constructive and peaceful approach to addressing regional challenges, commending the country’s commitment to dialogue and conflict resolution.

The meeting was attended by Saleh Mohammed Al Saqri, Head of the East Africa Department at the Omani Foreign Ministry; David Mogobo, South African Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman; and other senior officials from both countries.
