Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian authorities have confirmed that U.S. airstrikes targeted key nuclear installations, including the Fordow nuclear facility, during recent military operations launched by the United States.

An Iranian official stated that the entrance and exit areas of the Fordow site were damaged in the strikes, while missile attacks were also carried out near the Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities.

However, Iranian officials emphasized that all three nuclear sites had been cleared of personnel and sensitive materials before the attacks, and no radioactive material was released as a result.

In response to the attacks, Isfahan’s Deputy Governor, Akbar Salehi, stated that air defense systems were activated in Isfahan and Kashan, targeting what he described as “hostile threats.”

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that the Fordow nuclear facility had been completely destroyed in what he described as a strategic operation to eliminate Iran’s enrichment capabilities.
