Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Lay Foundation Stone for “Uzbekistan” Park in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly laid the foundation stone for the “Uzbekistan” Park in Baku on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in bilateral cultural cooperation and friendship.
The ceremony, held in the Baku White City district, celebrated the launch of a large-scale cultural and recreational project designed to showcase Uzbekistan’s rich heritage. The park, spanning five hectares, will be shaped like the map of Uzbekistan and will highlight iconic features of Uzbek culture, history, and architecture — with thematic elements from cities such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Kokand.
The park will include a museum, cinema, amphitheater, viewing tower, restaurants and cafés serving traditional Uzbek cuisine, as well as a commercial zone with souvenir and gift shops, a zoo, and a hotel. Architectural replicas of historical landmarks from Bukhara, Samarkand, and Khiva will be among the park’s standout attractions.
The creation of the “Uzbekistan” Park symbolizes the enduring brotherhood and cultural affinity between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. It is envisioned as a space that not only celebrates Uzbek culture but also reinforces the growing strategic and people-to-people ties between the two nations.
This initiative underscores the commitment of both leaders to fostering cultural diplomacy and mutual understanding. The park is expected to become a significant hub for cultural exchange, tourism, and bilateral cooperation in the heart of Baku.
