Uzbekistan Starts Strong at Asian U15 Wrestling Championships in Bishkek

Bishkek, The Gulf Observer: The Asian U15 Wrestling Championships are currently underway in Bishkek, with athletes from across the continent competing in various wrestling disciplines. Uzbekistan’s young wrestlers have made an impressive start to the tournament, particularly in the Greco-Roman wrestling category.

In a series of strong performances, Sodiqjon Hamidov clinched the gold medal, while Afruzbek Ibrokhimov and Samandar Madaminov secured silver medals. Bronze medals were earned by Mehmet Annageldiyev, Muhammadaziz Gafurov, Muhammadrasul Hakimov, and Azamat Rakhmatov, reflecting the depth of talent within the Uzbek team.

Thanks to these achievements, Uzbekistan placed third in the overall team standings for Greco-Roman wrestling, demonstrating the country’s continued excellence in youth wrestling development.

The championships continue today with competitions in women’s wrestling, as athletes vie for top honors and national pride. The event serves as a vital platform for nurturing future stars of Asian wrestling.
