Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a telephone call on Sunday from British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs David Lammy, according to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the call, the two ministers reviewed bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom and discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to address ongoing issues in the Middle East.

The conversation came as part of Foreign Secretary Lammy’s broader diplomatic visit to the region. On Saturday, Lammy held a meeting with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa in Damascus, marking a historic step toward restoring British-Syrian relations after 14 years of diplomatic strain that began amid Syria’s civil conflict and the continued rule of the Assad family.

Continuing his regional engagements, Lammy visited Kuwait on Sunday, where he met separately with Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The discussions reportedly focused on strengthening cooperation and addressing shared regional concerns.

The Saudi foreign ministry emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and coordination between the Kingdom and the United Kingdom in addressing regional and international challenges.
