Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy Launches Schools Sports Festivals

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, has launched a new series of “Schools Sports Festivals”, running through November 2025, aimed at discovering and nurturing young female sports talent across the United Arab Emirates.
Focusing on basketball and volleyball, the initiative targets schoolgirls aged 13 to 17, providing them with a dynamic platform to showcase their abilities, develop their athletic skills, and potentially represent the nation in both local and international competitions.
The program will include six sports festivals, designed to identify outstanding student-athletes and offer them the opportunity to be integrated into the FBMA’s official teams. These festivals form a key part of the academy’s long-term strategy to build a pipeline of elite female athletes.
The first festival was recently held at FBMA’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of 70 students from five schools, marking a promising start to the nationwide initiative.
The Schools Sports Festivals reflect FBMA’s steadfast commitment to the development of women’s sports in the UAE. The initiative also reinforces collaboration with the Ministry of Education and educational institutions, while promoting a strong culture of sport among young girls across the country.
By identifying and supporting emerging talent at an early stage, the academy continues to play a leading role in fostering national pride and empowering the next generation of Emirati female athletes.
