Saudi Arabia Showcases Culture and Heritage at Moscow International Book Fair 2025

Moscow, The Gulf Observer: The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission on Wednesday inaugurated the Saudi pavilion at the 38th Moscow International Book Fair 2025, attracting large numbers of Russian visitors and avid readers. The five-day event, held at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNKh), features wide international participation.
Saudi Arabia’s participation, led by the Commission, is presented through a comprehensive cultural pavilion bringing together several key national institutions and stakeholders, including the UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, the King Fahad National Library, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, the King Fahd Holy Qur’an Printing Complex in Madinah, the Publishing Association, the Translation Association, and Nasher publishing company.
At the Ministry of Islamic Affairs’ corner, visitors are introduced to the Kingdom’s efforts in serving the Holy Qur’an and promoting the values of moderation and balance. On display are multiple editions of the Qur’an printed by the King Fahd Complex, available in various sizes and translated into 77 languages, along with a live demonstration of advanced printing processes.
The pavilion also features innovative digital applications, including a multilingual 3D app teaching the rituals of Hajj and Umrah, and a Qur’an keyboard app that allows users to search and insert authenticated Qur’anic verses and Hadiths directly, minimizing errors. A virtual-reality tour of the Prophet’s Mosque provides visitors with an immersive experience of its interior and architectural landmarks while highlighting the Kingdom’s dedication to the Two Holy Mosques.
Rare Islamic manuscripts from the Makkah Library are also on display, featuring works of prominent fiqh scholars, linguists, and writers, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s role in preserving and sharing Islamic heritage with the world.
The Ministry’s participation emphasizes its commitment to advancing values of moderation and promoting balanced religious thought, in line with the Kingdom’s leading role in serving Islam and Muslims and consistent with Saudi Vision 2030.
Saudi Arabia’s presence at the fair reflects its commitment to strengthening cultural relations with the Russian Federation, expanding bilateral cooperation, and encouraging investment opportunities in the cultural sector. These initiatives align with Vision 2030’s goals of positioning culture as a catalyst for development and a bridge for international dialogue.
