Saudi Arabia Announces SR1.38 Billion Economic Support Package for Yemen

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia has unveiled a new economic support package for Yemen amounting to SR1.38 billion (US$368 million), the Saudi Press Agency reported. The assistance will be provided through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.

The package includes direct budget support, funding for petroleum derivatives, and coverage of operational costs for the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden.

According to SPA, the initiative comes under the directives of King Salman and based on recommendations from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Riyadh underscored that the aid reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to stabilizing Yemen’s economy and supporting the reform efforts of the Yemeni government.

Saudi Arabia has consistently provided financial and humanitarian assistance to Yemen in recent years, with the latest support package reaffirming its role in promoting economic stability and development in the neighboring country.
