CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza Undertakes Official Visit to Romania to Strengthen Defence Cooperation

Bucharest, The Gulf Observer: At the invitation of General Gheorghiță Vlad, Chief of Defence Staff of Romania, the Honourable Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) of Pakistan, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NIM, is undertaking an official visit to Romania from October 5 to 9, 2025.
Earlier today, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence, General Mirza was accorded a warm welcome with full military honours, including a formal Guard of Honour ceremony.
During his visit, General Mirza held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, Minister of National Defence of Romania. The two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including regional stability, defence collaboration, and opportunities to enhance bilateral military relations.
The CJCSC also held comprehensive discussions with his Romanian counterpart, General Gheorghiță Vlad. Both commanders reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening cooperation in areas such as professional military education, defence production, and strategic consultation, aimed at promoting peace and security in their respective regions.
General Mirza commended the competence and professionalism of the Romanian Armed Forces and underlined the significance of strengthening defence ties between Pakistan and Romania.
On behalf of Pakistan’s leadership, the CJCSC extended cordial invitations to Minister Moșteanu and General Vlad to undertake official visits to Pakistan at their earliest convenience.
The visit of General Sahir Shamshad Mirza underscores the growing defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and Romania and reflects the mutual commitment to sustained engagement and constructive partnership between the armed forces of both friendly nations.
