Pakistan’s Leadership Extends Greetings to Türkiye on Victory Day

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday extended warm greetings to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Türkiye on the occasion of Victory Day.
In a message posted on his official X account, President Zardari said Pakistan and Türkiye enjoy a unique and enduring relationship based on deep bonds of history, faith and mutual support.
Recalling the Great Victory of August 30, 1922, the President described the historic event as an important chapter in Türkiye’s history and expressed confidence that the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye would continue to grow.
He conveyed his wishes for continued peace, prosperity and success for President Erdogan and the people of Türkiye.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended his warmest felicitations to President Erdogan, the Turkish Government and the brotherly people of Türkiye on the occasion of Victory Day.
The Prime Minister said August 30 commemorates the historic victory achieved under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, which laid the foundations of the modern Turkish Republic.
Pakistan, he said, joins its Turkish brothers and sisters in honouring the legacy of courage and national resolve represented by the historic victory.
Highlighting the longstanding relationship between the two countries, Shehbaz Sharif said the bonds between Pakistan and Türkiye were “bonds of the heart”, forged through centuries of shared faith, history and struggle.
He noted that the two countries had recently reaffirmed their strategic partnership through the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, which also involves the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and seeks to strengthen common security and collective deterrence.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to further deepening its strategic partnership with Türkiye across all fields in pursuit of the shared prosperity and security of both nations.
He also expressed the hope that the enduring friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and Türkiye would continue to flourish for generations to come.
