Azerbaijan

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan and Croatia continue to expand their parliamentary and bilateral cooperation, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova stated during a briefing with her Croatian counterpart Gordan Jandroković.

Speaker Gafarova highlighted the role of friendship groups operating between the parliaments of both countries, noting that reciprocal visits among group members could be increased and that cooperation on global parliamentary platforms could be further enhanced. She added that inter-committee exchanges of experience would be particularly fruitful in the areas of economy, energy, transport, entrepreneurship, education, and culture.

Pointing to Azerbaijan’s growing energy exports, Gafarova noted that Azerbaijan currently exports gas to 10 European countries, including eight European Union member states, with Croatia being one of them.

Reflecting on the past three decades, the Speaker emphasized that Azerbaijan-Croatia relations have developed successfully across multiple sectors, rising to the level of a strategic partnership. She underlined that the primary objective is to bring the peoples of the two countries closer and to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
