President Tokayev Chairs First Session of Working Group on Parliamentary Reform

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the inaugural session of the Working Group on Parliamentary Reform, according to the Akorda press service.
In his remarks, President Tokayev recalled that he had signed a decree last week to establish the special Working Group, noting that parliamentary reform represents an exceptionally important and complex task for the nation. He underlined that the issue demands thorough and inclusive discussion across civil society, the expert community, and the Parliament.
The session brought together representatives of the Parliament, the Presidential Administration, the Government, political parties, legal experts, academics, and public figures.
President Tokayev reiterated that parliamentary reform is a matter directly affecting the destiny of the country. He expressed confidence that every member of the Working Group would demonstrate perseverance and dedication in fulfilling this significant national mission.
