Serdar Berdimuhamedov Meets U.S. Congressional Delegation to Strengthen Turkmen-American Cooperation

Washington, D.C., The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Bill Huizenga, Chairman of the Subcommittee on South and Central Asia of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, and his deputy Sydney Kaye Camlager-Dav, during his working visit to the United States.
During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the United States across the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. He emphasized that collaboration with the U.S. Congress is an important dimension of bilateral relations, particularly in the exchange of legislative experience and in addressing key regional and international issues.
The President noted that in recent years, U.S. congressional representatives have visited Turkmenistan, contributing to the expansion of interparliamentary cooperation. He expressed confidence that stronger ties between the legislative bodies of both countries would further enhance political dialogue and mutual understanding.
The discussions also highlighted the significance of the Turkmen-American Business Forum, organized during the visit of the Turkmen delegation to the United States, as a key platform for fostering economic and investment partnerships.
At the conclusion of the talks, President Berdimuhamedov and the U.S. congressional members exchanged cordial wishes, reaffirming that the relationship between Turkmenistan and the United States — based on trust, respect, and mutual benefit — will continue to develop for the prosperity of both nations.
