Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry Institute Hosts Presentation of President Berdimuhamedov’s New Book on Neutrality

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: On 7 December 2025, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a formal ceremony to present President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s new book, “Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygy – parahatçylygyň we ynanyşmagyň aýdyň ýoly” (“Turkmenistan’s Neutrality – A Clear Path to Peace and Trust”).
The event was attended by senior officials and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, leaders of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic and consular missions abroad, faculty members and students of the institute, as well as media representatives.
The ceremony opened with a literary and musical performance by students titled “Bitaraplyk – biziň baky bagtymyz” (“Neutrality – Our Eternal Happiness”).
Speakers at the event included Rector of the Institute Gulshat Yusupova; Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov; Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations in New York, Aksoltan Ataeva; and Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, Kaha Imnadze.
In their remarks, the speakers highlighted the importance of the newly published book, noting that it offers a comprehensive and profound analysis of Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality. The book underscores that the core objective of Turkmenistan’s neutral status is to channel its geopolitical and geoeconomic potential toward ensuring peaceful living and constructive development in accordance with international commitments and legal norms.
Special emphasis was placed on the ancient roots of Turkmen neutrality. In this context, Turkmenistan’s contemporary diplomacy is presented as a continuation of the nation’s historical heritage, adapted to the realities of the modern era.
Participants described the book as a valuable gift from the President to the people of Turkmenistan and the international community, ahead of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the International Day of Neutrality.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, attendees adopted an Address to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
