Sultan Haitham and Lebanese President Hold Talks to Expand Bilateral Cooperation

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President General Joseph Aoun of the Lebanese Republic held an official session of talks on Tuesday at Al Alam Palace, focusing on strengthening cooperation and expanding opportunities for partnership and investment between Oman and Lebanon.

At the outset of the meeting, His Majesty Sultan Haitham warmly welcomed President Aoun and his accompanying delegation. President Aoun expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty for the gracious welcome and generous hospitality extended to him during the visit.

The discussions reviewed prospects for opening new horizons of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the commercial, industrial, agricultural, and tourism sectors. Both sides also exchanged views on political developments in the region and explored ways to support efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability.

The talks underscored the shared commitment of Oman and Lebanon to consolidating bilateral relations and identifying avenues to strengthen economic and strategic collaboration.

The session was attended on the Omani side by HH Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty; HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Oufi, Head of the Private Office; Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour; and Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Ambassador of Oman to Lebanon.

The Lebanese delegation included Youssef Raggi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants; Major General Michel Mansi, Minister of National Defence; Ahmed Al-Hajjar, Minister of Interior; Nizar Hani, Minister of Agriculture; Dr. Rakan Nasser El-Din, Minister of Public Health; and Brigadier General André Rahal, Advisor to the President.

The visit underscores the continued commitment of both nations to enhancing cooperation and strengthening longstanding ties across various fields of mutual interest.
