President Mirziyoyev Honors Memory of Uzbekistan’s First President Islam Karimov on His Birthday

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the monument to the country’s First President, Islam Karimov, in Tashkent on January 30, paying tribute to his legacy and contributions to the nation’s independence and statehood.

During the ceremony, it was подчеркнуто that historical memory serves as a strong foundation for the future of the nation. The invaluable role of Islam Karimov in establishing Uzbekistan as an independent state and in laying the foundations of its modern governance was remembered with deep respect and gratitude.

Thanks to the initiative and continued attention of President Mirziyoyev, the memory of the First President has been perpetuated, including the construction of a mausoleum in Samarkand. It has become a long-standing tradition to hold commemorative events on January 30, marking the birthday of Islam Karimov.

Surahs from the Holy Quran were recited, and prayers were offered in honor of the late leader. Speakers reflected on his service to the Motherland and highlighted his personal qualities and dedication to the development of the country.

The ceremony at the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov was attended by representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, and the government, as well as figures from science and culture and members of the public.

In addition, the memory of the First President was honored with flower-laying ceremonies at his monuments in Samarkand and Karshi.
