Russia Appreciates Turkmenistan’s Support in Evacuating Citizens from Conflict Zone

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Kosachev, held a meeting on Thursday with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Esen Aydogdyyev, during which he expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for providing organizational and logistical assistance in evacuating Russian citizens from a conflict zone.

According to the press service of the Federation Council, the two sides discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of interparliamentary relations, as well as exchanged views on current regional and international developments.

The discussions also focused on cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which Turkmenistan holds the chairmanship of this year. Kosachev noted that the program prepared by the Turkmen side features a comprehensive agenda that includes several parliamentary events.

He affirmed that Russia is ready to support these initiatives both through bilateral engagement and within the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS member states.

Ambassador Aydogdyyev, for his part, reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s interest in sharing its experience in organizing activities during its CIS chairmanship. He also conveyed greetings and best wishes from the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to Russian parliamentarians.
