Pakistan Day Celebrated with Dignity at Pakistan Embassy in Brussels
Brussels, The Gulf Observer: The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels commemorated Pakistan Day with a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony, reflecting national pride and unity among the Pakistani community in Europe.
His Excellency Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem. Messages from the President, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion.
In his address, the Ambassador underscored the historic significance of the Pakistan Resolution of March 23, 1940, and paid tribute to the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as well as the sacrifices of the founding fathers.
Highlighting the contemporary regional challenges, the Ambassador noted that Pakistan Day is being observed at a critical time marked by multiple conflicts. He expressed confidence that, guided by the enduring principles of unity, faith, and discipline, the nation would overcome these challenges with resilience and collective strength.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms, the Ambassador paid homage to the brave men and women who laid down their lives in service to the nation. He honored the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs and security forces in maintaining peace and stability.
The Ambassador also reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing their inalienable right to self-determination and acknowledging their continued sacrifices.
Emphasizing the importance of Pakistan’s relations with Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union, he highlighted that the EU remains Pakistan’s second-largest trading partner.
He further commended the Pakistani diaspora across Europe for their professionalism, dedication, and invaluable contributions, noting their vital role in promoting Pakistan’s positive image abroad.
A large number of Pakistani diaspora members, including business leaders, journalists, and community representatives, attended the ceremony.
