President Prabowo Visits Japan to Boost Indonesia–Japan Strategic Cooperation

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto has embarked on an official visit to Japan aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors including trade, technology, education, forestry, and environmental protection, according to government officials.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi said the visit underscores Indonesia’s commitment to deepening its long-standing partnership with Japan by focusing on strategic areas of mutual interest.
“The planned meetings will strengthen cooperation and friendship between both countries, as the President will highlight priority sectors that form the backbone of Indonesia–Japan collaboration,” Hadi stated.
The Indonesian president is visiting Japan at the invitation of Emperor Naruhito and is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with the monarch as well as Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
President Prabowo departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in East Jakarta on Sunday morning. He was seen off by senior officials, including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Accompanying the president on the visit are Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
According to official statements, President Prabowo will first pay a courtesy call on Emperor Naruhito before holding talks with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo.
Following the conclusion of his engagements in Japan, the Indonesian leader is scheduled to proceed to the Republic of Korea for further official visits.
The Japan and South Korea trips form part of Indonesia’s broader diplomatic initiative to strengthen its strategic presence and partnerships within East Asia.
