PM Shehbaz Sharif Reaffirms Pakistan’s Mediation Role During Meeting with Iranian Delegation at Islamabad Talks

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday appreciated Iran’s constructive engagement in the ongoing Islamabad Talks and reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm commitment to facilitating dialogue aimed at achieving meaningful outcomes for regional and global peace.

The prime minister expressed these views during a meeting with a high-level Iranian delegation led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly. The delegation also included Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored Pakistan’s sincere resolve to continue playing a proactive mediating role in fostering dialogue and building momentum toward lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The Pakistani side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The high-level interaction reflects Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement under the Islamabad Talks framework, aimed at promoting dialogue, reducing tensions, and advancing sustainable peace through cooperative international efforts.
