Vietnam, Brunei Pledge to Strengthen Comprehensive Partnership

Cebu, The Gulf Observer: Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah congratulated Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng on his new position and expressed his desire to work closely with him to further advance the Việt Nam–Brunei Comprehensive Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner.
During their meeting on the sidelines of the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Prime Minister Hưng proposed that both sides effectively implement the 2023–2027 Action Programme for the Việt Nam–Brunei Comprehensive Partnership.
He also called for enhanced economic and trade cooperation and suggested considering the establishment of a joint committee mechanism on trade cooperation to further strengthen bilateral economic ties.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister additionally proposed increased cooperation in fisheries and seafood exploitation, highlighting the importance of expanding collaboration in sectors of mutual interest.
Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah reaffirmed Brunei’s support for Việt Nam in successfully hosting the APEC 2027 and stated that Brunei stands ready to cooperate with Việt Nam in areas where both countries share strengths and common interests.
