7th Meeting of OTS Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards Opens in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The 7th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has commenced in Baku, bringing together religious leaders and representatives from Turkic states and a number of international organizations.

The opening ceremony featured the national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran.

Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office and chair of the meeting, delivered a welcoming address.

The meeting’s agenda includes discussions on strengthening cooperation among Muslim religious institutions, protecting and reinforcing the family, and Islam’s approach to science and technology, alongside other issues of common interest.

The 7th Meeting brings together heads of Muslim religious boards and senior religious representatives from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The event is also attended by state officials, academics and religious figures representing 40 countries and 15 international organizations, providing a broad platform for dialogue on religious, social and contemporary issues.
