Turkmenistan Celebrates International Children’s Day with Nationwide Festivities

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan marked International Children’s Day with a series of festive events held across the country, highlighting the nation’s commitment to the well-being, education, and development of children.
On the occasion, Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended congratulations to the children and people of independent and neutral Turkmenistan, emphasizing the importance of nurturing the younger generation as a cornerstone of the country’s future.
A central celebration took place at the Ashgabat Park of Culture and Leisure, where a large-scale festive event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry, and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, in cooperation with United Nations agencies and with the support of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The opening ceremony featured remarks by Rejep Bazarov, Dmitry Shlapachenko, and Jalpa Ratna. Speakers underscored that ensuring the health, education, and harmonious development of children remains a key priority of Turkmenistan’s state policy.
The event also highlighted the successful partnership between the charity fund and UNICEF, which continues to support initiatives aimed at creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development and well-being of children throughout the country.
Young performers from the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Jahan Creative Center entertained attendees with musical, dance, and theatrical performances, showcasing their creativity and artistic talents.
A wide range of activities, including quizzes, competitions, educational games, and sporting events, were organized for children, creating a vibrant atmosphere and providing participants with memorable experiences as part of the nationwide celebrations.
The festivities reflected Turkmenistan’s ongoing efforts to promote child welfare and strengthen cooperation with international partners in advancing children’s rights and development.
