President Prabowo Receives Special Message from Qatari Emir

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday received Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Thani at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, where the Qatari official delivered a special message from Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

According to a statement from Indonesia’s Presidential Secretariat, the message was conveyed during a closed-door meeting held at the presidential office. While the contents of the message were not disclosed, President Prabowo welcomed the gesture and expressed appreciation for the Emir’s attention, reaffirming Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Qatar.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to review ongoing cooperation between Indonesia and Qatar across a range of sectors. Discussions included the implementation of agreements reached under the Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Dialogue signed on April 13, 2025, in Doha and witnessed by President Prabowo and Emir Sheikh Tamim.

The Strategic Dialogue framework is designed to deepen collaboration in key areas, including foreign and regional policy, defense and security, counterterrorism, trade and investment, as well as cultural exchanges and people-to-people relations.

The Presidential Secretariat described the talks as taking place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the strong ties between the two nations.

Officials noted that the meeting forms part of broader efforts by Indonesia and Qatar to advance their strategic partnership, with the aim of promoting mutual prosperity while contributing to regional stability and development.
