Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Holds Sadaqah Ceremony in Memory of Deceased at Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a sadaqah ceremony on Friday at the Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque in Ak Bugday district of Ahal velayat to honor the memory of those who have passed away, according to Turkmen state media.
The ceremony was dedicated to commemorating past generations, supporting the successful implementation of national development initiatives, and seeking blessings for efforts aimed at enhancing the well-being and prosperity of the people of Turkmenistan.
Addressing participants, Berdimuhamedov emphasized the deep connection between Turkmen national traditions and the values of Islam, noting that faith and spiritual customs continue to play an important role in the country’s social and cultural life.
He stated that Turkmen people traditionally begin every undertaking by invoking the name of Allah and regularly organize sadaqah ceremonies and prayers to seek success in good deeds. Berdimuhamedov also highlighted the importance attached to preserving cemeteries and honoring the memory of ancestors throughout the country.
Referring to activities earlier in the day, he noted that participants had taken part in a community clean-up campaign at the Gurban Ogly Welmyrat cemetery in the village of Magtymguly in Ak Bugday district, describing such efforts as an expression of respect for previous generations.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty described remembrance of the deceased as a noble and virtuous tradition, stressing that Turkmen society highly values customs and moral principles inherited from its ancestors. He cited traditional Turkmen wisdom emphasizing respect for both the deceased and the living as foundations of social harmony and prosperity.
Following the ceremonial blessing, attendees were served a meal. The Mufti of Turkmenistan subsequently recited verses from the Holy Quran and offered prayers for the continued development and prosperity of the country, the acceptance of the sadaqah and memorial prayers, and the health and longevity of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to all participants for attending the ceremony and voiced hope that the prayers and Quranic recitations would be accepted by Almighty Allah. He later joined worshippers in offering evening prayers at the Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque.
