Tajikistan, Maldives Reaffirm Commitment to Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, met with the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Pakistan, Uz Mohammed Thoha, on July 2 to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

During the meeting, the two diplomats reviewed the current state of friendly relations between Tajikistan and the Maldives and explored opportunities to further enhance bilateral cooperation.

Both sides exchanged views on expanding collaboration in the political, economic, trade, tourism, education and cultural sectors, expressing their mutual commitment to making effective use of existing opportunities to promote mutually beneficial partnerships.

Ambassador Sharifzoda briefed the Maldivian High Commissioner on Tajikistan’s achievements since gaining independence, the country’s key foreign policy priorities, and its international initiatives focused on water resources, glacier preservation, and the promotion of global peace and stability.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their readiness to maintain constructive dialogue, deepen bilateral cooperation, and further strengthen the longstanding friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Maldives.
