President Aliyev Credits Donald Trump with Supporting Azerbaijan-Armenia Peace Process

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has praised U.S. President Donald Trump for his role in supporting the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, describing him as a leader committed to peace whose intervention helped create conditions for progress during the final stage of negotiations.
Speaking at the opening of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum in Baku, President Aliyev said President Trump’s approach to international affairs was guided by a desire to promote peace and resolve conflicts through dialogue.
“President Trump’s approach was quite different. He is a person who loves peace, a person who brings peace to many destinations. As he himself says, he has helped bring peace to eight conflicts, and this reflects his character, his vision and his policy,” President Aliyev said.
The Azerbaijani leader noted that President Trump’s role became particularly significant when Azerbaijan and Armenia reached the final phase of negotiations on a comprehensive peace agreement.
According to President Aliyev, the U.S. President and his team became actively engaged at a critical stage of the process and helped establish a framework that enabled the two sides to move closer to peace.
“So, in our case, his role was very important when Azerbaijan and Armenia were in the final stage of negotiations on a peace agreement. President Trump and his team stepped in, and they created such a framework that peace became possible,” President Aliyev stated.
The remarks were delivered during the opening session of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, which brought together international media representatives, policymakers and experts to discuss global communication, regional developments and international cooperation.
