Saudi, Pakistani Ministers Discuss Sustainable Development Cooperation at HLPF 2026

New York, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Alibrahim, met with Pakistan’s Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, on the sidelines of the 2026 High-level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in planning and development.

During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed ongoing efforts to advance sustainable development priorities and explored avenues for closer collaboration in support of shared development goals.

They also exchanged views on accelerating progress towards the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, reaffirming their commitment to promoting sustainable economic growth, effective planning, and enhanced international cooperation.

The meeting underscored the importance both countries place on strengthening partnerships and sharing expertise to achieve inclusive and sustainable development objectives.
