Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Strong Support for Palestinian Statehood at Brussels Donors Meeting
Brussels, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its unwavering political, economic and diplomatic support for the Palestinian government, reiterating its commitment to achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting peace through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Representing the Kingdom at the second meeting of the Palestine Donors Group in Brussels, Dr. Manal Radwan, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Saudi Arabia remains committed to working closely with regional and international partners to advance a sustainable political solution to the Palestinian issue.
Addressing the meeting, Radwan described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as critical, noting that nine months after the ceasefire, large parts of the territory remain under Israeli military control while the remaining areas continue to be administered by Hamas. She said ongoing restrictions have hindered humanitarian assistance, early recovery efforts, reconstruction and the restoration of normal civilian life.
She also expressed concern over the continued expansion of Israeli settlements, settler violence and unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank, stressing that the situation constitutes not only a humanitarian crisis but also a political challenge requiring a comprehensive political solution.
Radwan welcomed the international community’s continued support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), calling for sustained financial commitments to enable the agency to continue delivering humanitarian, educational and healthcare services to millions of Palestinian refugees.
Highlighting the importance of Saudi Arabia’s strategic partnership with the United States, she described the relationship as a key factor in advancing efforts toward a comprehensive political settlement.
Radwan also said that U.S. President Donald Trump’s vision of ending the Middle East conflict through a comprehensive peace framework that promotes security, prosperity and regional integration remains an important element in efforts to achieve lasting regional stability.
