Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Al Ahsa recorded the highest temperature in Saudi Arabia at 49°C on Wednesday, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM), as extreme heat continued to grip several regions of the Kingdom. The latest readings come amid ongoing NCM warnings of soaring temperatures affecting large parts of the country this week.

According to the NCM, Al Qaisumah registered 48°C, while Madinah, Buraidah, Rafha, and Wadi Al-Dawasir each reached 46°C. Temperatures climbed to 45°C in Riyadh, Al Ula, and Arar, while Dammam and Sharurah recorded 44°C.

Meteorological authorities have urged residents to take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses by avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours, staying hydrated and following official weather advisories.

The Kingdom has experienced an intense summer season, with the Eastern Province among the regions most affected by exceptionally high temperatures. Weather officials have warned that the extreme heat is expected to persist, prompting continued public safety measures and close monitoring of weather conditions across Saudi Arabia.
