President Ilham Aliyev Meets John Deere Executives to Discuss Expanding Agricultural Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Thursday met with Csaba Lejko, President for the CIS and Central Asia at John Deere and Chief Executive Officer of John Deere Walldorf International GmbH, along with Peter Sachse, Vice President for the CIS at John Deere, to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector.
During the meeting, the participants recalled President Aliyev’s previous meeting with Csaba Lejko in Baku last year and reviewed the progress made since then.
The John Deere executives said they were highly impressed by Azerbaijan’s rapid development and reaffirmed the company’s interest in strengthening its presence and expanding cooperation with the country.
The discussions highlighted Azerbaijan’s considerable agricultural potential and the growing use of modern technologies to improve productivity and efficiency in the sector. Both sides also noted the Azerbaijani government’s continued support for agricultural development, particularly through the recently adopted State Program aimed at modernising the industry.
President Aliyev and the John Deere representatives explored opportunities to broaden collaboration across various fields of agriculture, including the introduction of advanced machinery and innovative farming technologies to support sustainable agricultural growth.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing confidence in the significant potential for deeper cooperation between Azerbaijan and John Deere, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing the country’s agricultural sector through modern technology and innovation.
