President Emomali Rahmon Attends Opening Ceremony of 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: President of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon on August 31 attended the grand opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

The sixth edition of the World Nomad Games is being held at Bishkek Arena Stadium from August 31 to September 6.

The Games are being organized on the occasion of Kyrgyzstan’s Independence Day and the commemorative meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

A spectacular theatrical performance was presented during the opening ceremony, highlighting the history, traditions and cultural heritage associated with the nomadic games.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, President Emomali Rahmon held friendly meetings and conversations with several heads of state and government leaders of SCO member and participating countries.

Among them were President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meetings, the leaders exchanged views in a friendly atmosphere on matters of mutual interest and various issues concerning bilateral and regional cooperation.
