Vietnam Marks 81st National Day with Solemn Flag-Raising Ceremony in Hanoi

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Việtnam marked the 81st anniversary of its National Day on Wednesday with a solemn flag-raising ceremony at Ba Đình Square in the capital Hànội.

The ceremony began at 6am in front of the Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum, the historic site where President Hồ Chí Minh read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, proclaiming the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Việtnam, now the Socialist Republic of Việtnam.

The ceremonial formation consisted of 37 officers and soldiers and was led by the Quyết Thắng Military Flag team. It was followed by 34 honour guards representing the first 34 members of the Việtnam Propaganda Liberation Army, the predecessor of the Việtnam People’s Army.

At precisely 6am, the national flag was raised on the 29-metre flagpole as Việtnam’s national anthem resounded across Ba Đình Square, creating a solemn atmosphere as the country commemorated the historic occasion.

Large crowds gathered around the square from early morning to witness the ceremony and celebrate National Day. Families and visitors also took photographs in front of the Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum to mark the anniversary.

Following the flag-raising ceremony, the honour guard marched past the mausoleum, concluding the commemorative proceedings at the historic square.
