Baku, The Gulf Observer: Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova held a meeting with President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Khalilur Rahman in New York, with discussions focusing on Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the United Nations and its contributions to the organisation’s activities.

During the meeting, the sides highlighted the role of the Azerbaijani parliament in supporting the country’s engagement with the United Nations and discussed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in advancing multilateralism and strengthening international cooperation.

Speaker Gafarova also briefed the UNGA President on the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN), outlining its role in promoting parliamentary cooperation and dialogue among member states.

The meeting also featured an exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
