Azerbaijan, Italy Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Oil and Petrochemical Industries

Baku, The Gulf Observer: SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with Alessandro Bernini, Chief Executive Officer of MAIRE Group, to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the oil, refining and petrochemical sectors.

During the meeting, the sides highlighted the dynamic development of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy and noted that SOCAR’s activities in Italy, including its acquisition of shares in Italiana Petroli, demonstrate the successful development of bilateral energy ties.

The parties also praised the longstanding and effective partnership between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and MAIRE Group in the refining and petrochemical industries.

The meeting focused on opportunities to further expand cooperation in the petrochemical sector and explore the implementation of new joint projects in areas of mutual interest.

Both sides expressed interest in strengthening their partnership and identifying new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation.
