96,000 People Currently Live, Work or Study in Garabagh and East Zangezur: President Aliyev

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that 96,000 people currently live, work or study in the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions.

Addressing the 8th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party, President Aliyev said that Azerbaijan had so far allocated 28 billion manats for the development of the two regions.

He noted that the vast majority of the funds had been directed toward infrastructure projects, most of which have already been completed.

The President also said that former internally displaced persons have so far been resettled in 48 residential areas as part of Azerbaijan’s ongoing reconstruction and resettlement efforts.

According to President Aliyev, the Great Return process is expected to accelerate further in the coming years.
