Oman Celebrates Youth Day Under Theme ‘Azm’ as Youth Centre Signs Seven Agreements

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, on Monday patronised the ceremony marking Omani Youth Day, observed annually on October 26, at the headquarters of the Youth Centre in Muscat Governorate.
This year’s celebration was held under the theme “Azm” (Resolve), reflecting the determination, ambition and strong sense of purpose of Omani youth, who draw values of perseverance and courage from their national heritage and apply them in shaping their future.
The theme also embodies the spirit of a generation determined not only to preserve the legacy of its predecessors but also to build upon it through continued development and achievement, in line with the Sultanate of Oman’s aspirations for the future.
The ceremony began with a tour of the event’s activities and the Youth Centre’s facilities, during which His Highness met accomplished and enterprising young people. The programme also featured an address by youth representatives and a visual presentation highlighting the development of youth initiatives and the Centre’s key achievements over the past five years.
On the occasion, the Centre announced the soft opening of its branches in the governorates of Dhofar and Musandam, marking a further step towards expanding its outreach and strengthening youth engagement across the Sultanate.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the signing of seven agreements with public and private sector institutions to support youth development and expand opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship and investment.
Among the agreements, a funding agreement worth OMR20 million was signed with OQ Group for the main branch of the Youth Centre in Muscat Governorate. The initiative aims to establish an integrated environment that nurtures young talent and creativity, strengthens professional development opportunities and supports entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas into viable projects with sustainable impact.
The Centre also signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) and ETCO Space.
Additionally, an investment partnership agreement was concluded with Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO), while a logistical partnership agreement was signed with Al Mutamayaza Motors Company.
The Centre also signed a memorandum of understanding with Oman Oil Marketing Company to explore investment opportunities for developing and investing in land owned by the Youth Centre.
The ceremony included the recognition of several organisations and individuals who have contributed to supporting and advancing Oman’s youth sector.
This year’s Omani Youth Day also coincided with the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Youth Centre, which continues to implement programmes and initiatives aimed at developing young people’s skills and enhancing their capabilities across various fields, particularly innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.
Through its initiatives and partnerships with public and private institutions, the Centre seeks to provide an enabling environment for creativity, encourage youth-led initiatives and empower the next generation to contribute effectively to Oman’s sustainable development and future progress.
