Turkmenistan hosts celebrations on International Women’s Day
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Solemn events dedicated to the International Women’s Day were held on Tuesday in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat. As part of the festive events, on behalf of the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, ceremonies were held to honor mothers who gave birth and raised eight or more children.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the honorary title of Ene Mähri was awarded to about three hundred women, the country’s official media reports.
Large families were given the keys to new apartments, according to the report.
In addition, the Mukamlar Palace of the State Cultural Center hosted a festive concert on the eve of International Women’s Day.
The festive concert was attended by women from different parts of Turkmenistan, members of the Government, deputies of the Mejlis, labor veterans, production leaders representing all sectors of the national economy of the country, winners of the Woman of the Year – 2023 contest, and other creative and professional reviews. The honorary guests of the celebration were employees of diplomatic missions and international structures accredited in Turkmenistan.
On the eve of International Women’s Day, the ministries, departments, their structural subdivisions, institutions and organizations, enterprises of all forms of ownership held solemn ceremonies of presenting cash gifts to women on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
These days, festive celebrations to mark the International Women’s Day are held on the stage and concert venues of the capital and provinces.
