President Jokowi visits Tuban, East Java

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana conducted a working visit to Tuban, East Java, on Thursday, to conduct several activities, including planting rice and visiting a market.

According to a press release received in Jakarta, Thursday, the head of state departed for East Java aboard the presidential aircraft Indonesia-1 from the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport and arrived at the Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo District.

At the Juanda International Airport, the President and First Lady will be welcomed by Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Military Commander V/Brawijaya Major General Farid Makruf, Chief of the East Java Police Inspector General Toni Hermanto, and delegations.

The President and the First Lady will continue their journey to Tuban District aboard a helicopter belonging to the Indonesia Air Force.

In Tuban, the president is scheduled to visit the Food Sovereign Area of the Indonesian Farmers Union in Senori Village, Merakurak Sub-district.

The head of state will plant rice and hold a dialog with the farmers’ representatives. The president will then visit Sambonggede Market to greet traders as well as provide some social assistance.

After the event, the President and the First Lady will return to Juanda International Airport aboard a helicopter and then depart from East Java.

Presidential Military Secretary Rear Admiral Hersan, Presidential Services Commander Major General Rafael Granada Baay, and Deputy of Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin are also present during the visit to East Java.
