Beijing, The Gulf Observer: As agreed between China and Brazil, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of the Federative Republic of Brazil will pay a state visit to China from April 12 to 15, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying announced on Tuesday.
Noting that President Lula postponed his visit to China due to illness, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said, at a regular press briefing, that both sides have been in close communication on matters related to the visit.
Soon after his recovery, President Lula will lead a large delegation to China for a state visit, which fully demonstrates that China and Brazil attach great importance to this visit and the development of bilateral relations, Wang said.
Taking this visit as an opportunity, China will work with Brazil to promote the upgrading of mutually beneficial and friendly cooperation in various fields between the two countries, aiming to inject more positive energy into advancing solidarity and cooperation of developing countries and jointly addressing global challenges, said Wang.
