Shavkat Mirziyoyev presents his Election Program in Surkhandarya region

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The candidate for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with voters of Surkhandarya region on Thursday.

The meeting was opened by the candidate’s proxy in Surkhandarya region Abdulkhakim Eshmuratov. It was noted that in Surkhandarya region, the results of public reforms carried out under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev are visible, the standard of living of the region’s people has increased, and people have gained confidence in the future.

The candidate spoke about his plans to develop education in the region for the next seven years. In particular, the need for preschool education in Surkhandarya region will be 100 percent satisfied. Two thousand new public and private kindergartens will be created (currently 60 percent). By 2030, due to the construction of modern schools, increasing their capacity, and creating conditions for the private sector, more than 100,000 additional student places will appear. Modern computer classes and interactive whiteboards in the classrooms will be organized in all schools in the region.

In the election program, special attention is paid to improving the living conditions of Surkhandarya region residents.

“In the next seven years, 50,000 families will receive comfortable housing in 1,500 apartment buildings in the region”, the Presidential candidate said. – We will allocate a billion dollars from all sources for this. For example, 12,000 families will be provided with housing due to the construction of 300 multi-storey buildings in “Yangi Uzbekiston” neighborhoods in Angor, Baysun, Jarkurgan, Sariasiya, and Termez districts. By 2030, 4,000 kilometers of internal roads will be repaired in the region, and 35 bridges will be built.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also announced his plans to improve the region’s water supply.

“The sewerage system will be repaired in Termez, for which investments from the German bank KfV in the amount of $100 million will be attracted”, says the Presidential candidate. – With the help of the Saudi Fund for Development, water disposal systems will be built in Sariasiya, Denau, and Jarkurgan districts.

As is known, we have launched a large project to deliver drinking water for residents of Surkhandarya region from the Tupalang reservoir. This project will be fully completed next year. As a result, the level of provision of the region’s population with drinking water will be brought up to 90 percent. $460 million will be allocated for drinking water supply and sanitation projects in the region.

At the meeting, further strengthening of the social and legal protection of military personnel and their families was announced.

For this:

  • the wages of military personnel serving under the contract will be doubled by 2030;
  • by the end of the year, more than 2,000 houses will be built for our military, and another 20,000 houses in the next seven years;
  • the state will allocate 50 percent of the down payment for housing to military personnel who have served for more than 15 years;
  • the credit debt of disabled military personnel and families who have lost their breadwinner will be covered by the budget;
  • children of retired military personnel will be provided with benefits for admission to universities within the framework of a special quota;
  • separate funds will be allocated to treat seriously ill soldiers abroad.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the exam cost should be covered for young people who received high marks in the Uzbek language and literature.

“Currently, young people who have received high marks in international foreign language exams are reimbursed for the cost of passing exams”, says the Presidential candidate. – I propose introducing a similar procedure for “Uzbek language and literature”. It would also be fair to introduce a 50 percent allowance for teachers of the Uzbek language and literature (currently 20 percent).

At the meeting, it was announced that another important initiative would be introducing a single online transparent queue system for pilgrims going on Hajj.

“Hajj centers will be established in all regions. By 2030, the number of citizens going on pilgrimage will gradually increase to 24,000 per year”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

It was emphasized that in 2024 the training of personnel in the magistracy, and 2025 – doctoral studies at Tashkent Islamic Institute will begin.

It would be correct to say that the international recognition of the reforms carried out by us in the religious and educational sphere is another high assessment of the contribution of our people to the development of the Islamic religion.
  • What would you say if we hold an International Islamic Scientific and Practical Conference every two years with the participation of authoritative scientists of the Islamic world, –the candidate said.

At the meeting, representatives noted that they would support the candidacy of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the elections for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and called on others to do the same.
