Uzbekistan to celebrate International Olympic Day on June 25

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The International Olympic Day marks the founding of the International Olympic Committee on 23rd June 1894 at the Sorbonne, Paris. Pierre de Coubertin, a French historian, and educator, rallied the revival of the Ancient Olympic Games on this day.
This year, the International Olympic Day will be organized in Uzbekistan on June 25, simultaneously with the “Yangi Nafas” mass running competition.
This is widely celebrated worldwide to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle.
In Uzbekistan, this day is celebrated annually in a special way. Mass sports events and races are organized locally.
According to the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, over 50,000 people are expected to participate in the mass races, which will start simultaneously in Tashkent and 15 cities of the country in two days.
