Pakistan beat Afghanistan in thriller

Hambantota, The Gulf Observer: Brilliant half-centuries from Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam propelled Pakistan to one-wicket victory over Afghanistan in a last-ball thriller in the second ODI on Thursday.

Chasing 301, Pakistan had a brilliant start with Imam scoring 91 and Babar scoring 53. However, the visitors lost some wickets but Shadab Khan’s fiery knock of 48 runs, followed by Naseem Shah’s two boundaries in the last over, guided them to a victory by one wicket.

Earlier, riery knocks from Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran guided Afghanistan to 300/5 in 50 overs against Pakistan in second ODI on Thursday.

Opting to bat first, Afghanistan started off on a brilliant note as openers Gurbaz and Zadran stitched a massive 227-run partnership for the first wicket. Gurbaz scored 151 while Zadran smashed 80.
