We expect increase in tourist flow from China to Kazakhstan: President Tokayev
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: At a meeting with Ma Xinzhui, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev raised tourist exchange issues, according to media reports.
According to him, cooperation in tourism has huge prospects. In his words, Kazakhstan possesses significant potential in tourism.
“I have specially established a new ministry of tourism and sport. We expect an increase in the flow of tourists from China to Kazakhstan. The government of my country will exert every effort to develop tourism in the country. The next year will be declared the year of Kazakh tourism in China. Of course, we will encourage Kazakh tourists’ travel to your country,” said the President.
He also spoke about historical-cultural and humanitarian aspects of Kazakhstan-XUAR ties.
“Since ancient times, Xinjiang has been famous for its high level of cultural development. Local creative groups enjoy international recognition today. We support all-round development of creative exchanges, mutual tours, which will undoubtedly help strengthen good-neighborly relations and friendship,” noted Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
